The Relocation of Government Services from Abbotstown to Backweston was the single largest construction project ever undertaken by OPW. The relocation involved the provision of new laboratories at Backweston including the new State Laboratories building on which FKM carried out the entire mechanical services installation.

The complex includes extensive laboratories including the provision of specialist microbiological containment suites, support offices, seminar and training areas, library facilities and complex integrated support and service areas.
