Client's objectives
New Relic wanted to introduce a distinct culture for their new Dublin office. There was a move away from the cellularisation of workstations into a new open office environment, which the Golden Lane structure enabled, providing sufficient meeting and breakout spaces. Numerous visioning workshops were held with stakeholders to establish the design brief. Key features, branding, look-and-feel and the user experience were all considered. The ground floor became the hub of the office with support services, the town-hall meeting space, and the main canteen space.
Scope of work
- Incorporation of New Relic core values throughout the fit out
- Biophilic design features
- Expression of the existing structural exposed ceiling
- Feature video wall
Unique challenges of the project
High-level acoustic insulation & absorption to meet strict guidelines
Successes and Outcomes
Immediately upon entering the New Relic EMEA, the user feels a sense of calm. A serene environment has been achieved with a natural colour palette, oak panelling and earthy fabric finishes. Subtle lighting and acoustic absorption help to soften the internal environment. The client’s role as a leader in technology is never far away, albeit discreetly coordinated with the architectural features. The finished product is a delightful and functional space.
